In The Zone Camp Delivers Lasting Impacts

In The Zone campers receive coaching from established synchro athletes, thanks to the USSSF
105 swimmers. Four camps. 12 athlete coaches. Improved skills. Greater love for synchronized swimming. Broadened horizons as to the opportunities synchro provides. That’s what we call impact!! The USSSF provided a $10,000 grant to In the Zone Synchro in 2017 to hold four two-day weekend training camps, one in each USA Synchro zone. Suffice it to say it was money well spent.

With help from the USSSF, In The Zone has been able to travel around the country helping over 100 athletes learn and grow this past year
In its application, In the Zone Synchro requested funding to “offer weekend camps in each of the zones” to bring elite instruction to athletes, many of whom could not have otherwise traveled to an expensive synchro camp. The four camps were taught by collegiate champions who demonstrated and taught skills to both swimmers and coaches. In addition to building skills from beginner to advanced levels, these camps offered elite national and international collegiate athletes the opportunity to gain hands-on coaching experience that many have now parlayed into coaching at the club level, continuing to reach and improve swimmers. “I believe the magic that happens at these camps has changed [the swimmers’, and college and club coaches’] lived and outlook on synchro,” said Carolyn Presbrey, In the Zone co-founder.
